Meet Dr. Sharon Haas
Dr. Sharon Haas was born in Long Island, New York, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor's degree from Queens College (SUNY), graduating cum laude, and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at SUNY's School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook. Her residency was completed at the Bronx Municipal Hospital and Yeshiva University's Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she also received her Orthodontic Certification. It was there that she met Dr. Freedman. They subsequently married, moved to Florida, and then Dr. Haas joined the practice in 1992. Dr. Haas is a published author; her article on orthodontic appliances can be found in "Seminars in Orthodontics". She has done research in both orthodontics and periodontics and was a presenter at the American Association of Orthodontics Annual Session, the most prestigious yearly national meeting for U.S. orthodontists.
Dr. Haas is Board Certified through the American Board of Orthodontics. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, PBC Women Physician's Association, and Florida Dental and Orthodontic Associations. In addition to her passion for of orthodontics, Dr. Haas' love of music began in high school where she played flute in the concert band. She continued to study music and flute in college and performed in college musicals, a jazz band, classical music performances, and most recently as a choir accompaniest. She often volunteers at area schools to educate children on dental health and hygiene and careers in the dental field. She is an avid tennis enthusiast and has been a PADI certified diver. In her leisure time, Dr. Haas devotes her love and energy to her family, partners with area schools, and supports activities that benefit the lives of others.
